We come across Tin
Hau Festival (天后誕) in Kowloon City (九龍城) by accident. To my
understanding, the location of Tin Hau Temple should be near sea shore.
But this Tin Hau Festival is organized by citizens in Kowloon City,
which is not a piece of land near the sea, this is a bit puzzling.
Maybe, long long time ago, the location of Kowloon City before large
scale land reclamation was adjacent to the sea. This is therefore the
reason for an organization in Kowloon City to launch this event at
Argyle Street Playground of Kowloon city in May 2013.

To supplement, the boat people in Hong Kong believe in Tin Hau a lot, which is
Goddess
of the Sea and patron saint of fishermen. On her birthday (i.e. Tin Hau
Festival), locals flock to the more than 70 temples dedicated to her in
Hong Kong to pray for safety, security, fine weather and full fishing
nets during the coming year. Fyi, Tin Hau temple is also an indication
where the former coastline was.

It is still in the afternoon, there are not too many visitors.

This is the main temple in the event.

Worshipers are those of age over sixty, I guess.

Drama troupe is from Chao Zhou of Guangdong province.
Quite a lot of audience are enjoying Chao Zhou drama.
