Tin Hau Temple @ Lei Yue Mun (鯉魚門天后廟)

We
do not know apart from eating seafood, seafood restaurants and seafood
street, there is a Tin Hau Temple at the far end of Lei Yue Mun. This is
the first time to visit this temple. The first impression is that it is
not a very splendid one. It should be more or less similar to other Tin
Hau Temples. Of course, there must be difference in appearance and
layout. Unlike other temples, this Tin Hau Temple or other Tin Hau
Temple is always not particularly enchanting
or shiny in outlook.

There should be minor regular renovation. If not, colours on this sculpture should be faded.

The temple was established in 1754 and the latest renovation was in 1986. But now (in 2013), the temple is a bit old. Renovation should be needed.

In
fact, for the purpose of worshipping the gods, there is no such need for the temple to
be enchanting and shiny in appearance. If so, it is like to put the
cart before the horse. But it is learnt that the people in Lei Yue Mun
decided to raise fund for the purpose of renovating this Tin Hau Temple.
I guess the ultimate purpose is to attract more visitors and followers, and ultimately for more donation.
