Tsang Tai Uk

Tsang Tai Uk (曾大屋
)
is a Hakka walled village in Hong Kong, it is located in Shatin. It has
about 150 years history. The village is rectangular shaped, with three
rows of houses. There are three-storeys guard tower at the four corners
of the village.

It
is appreciated that all constructions can still be kept in its original
and good condition in 2011. From record, the whole village took twenty
years to complete.

The
external view of Tsang Tai Uk. Externally it has not been too
commercialized or modernized. At least, we cannot see individual
buildings of three storeys, extruding from the village and affecting the
overall original design.

Passageway is much wider.

This leads to the main ancentral hall.

This is a typical construction of old village. It is a place for gathering and to allow light to come in.

Overall
speaking, Tsang Tai Uk is kept in original and very good condition. No
modern constructions are built and mixed with the walled village.
