Tao Fung Shan

Tao Fung Shan (道風山) is located in Shatin, it normally refers the Christian Centre http://www.tfscc.org/eg/index.htm there. Tao Fung Shan, founded by a Norwegian missionary in 1930, means "The Mountain of the Christ Wind".

This
is the path adjacent to Shatin MTR Station (Exit B). It is in fact a
shortcut. It is much shorter than by Tao Fung Shan Road or Pak Lok Path
(from Tai Wai MTR Station).

It is next to the Shatin New Town Plaza.

The route is not too difficult.

This
is the roundabout heading to Tao Fung Shan Christian Centre. It is the
junction of Tao Fung Shan Road, Pak Lok Path and the route we take. From
this point, we continue to go up.

In about thirty minutes, we arrive at Tao Fung Shan Christian Centre. The buildings at the Centre are classified as Grade II historical building. Opening hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm daily.

There are a chapel, a library and a shop selling hand-painted porcelain and handicrafts in the Centre.

The chapel is an octagonal structure.

It is raining today.

The Centre is constructed in traditional Chinese style.

Being
the hallmark of the Centre, a 12-metre-high Cross faces Shatin town.
The Cross is a popular among visitors and is a place for outside
gatherings.

Reflection: A Christian construction in
traditional Chinese style is quite interesting. We do not expect it is
kept in such a good condition. It is a nice place for photo-taking. If
the weather is fine, it will be fantastic. We are impressed by the
special Chinese design with bright red colour. It does give us a leisure
and peacful feeling.
