Apliu Street Flea Market

Apliu Street (Ap Liu Street, 鴨寮街) is a large and famous flea market in Hong Kong, selling electronic and electrical goods of all kinds.

Apliu Street is in Sham Shui Po District, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Apliu Street Flea Market normally refers to the section (highlighted in blue in the above map) parallel to Cheung Sha Wan Road between Yen Chow Street and Nam Cheong Street.

The most convenient means of transport is by MTR to Shum Shui Po Station, Exits are A2 or C2.

Probably over 100 stores on that
street and the side streets connected to it, together with the stalls
in the middle of the streets, both new and used merchandise can be
found.

Apliu Street Flea Market is open everyday, from noon to the evening.

We are 'curious' about their happenings and we really do not know what the happening is.

It is in fact a stall (Stall A)
selling secondhand stuffs, like pots and pans, audio equipment,
electrical appliances, clocks and etc.

This does have a great impact on
me and we have to sign with regret when we are in this stall. We do not
expect old stuffs (there is no guarantee that they must work and be
functioning) will also be welcome by the locals. In Shum Shui Po, we can
see the living of some general public from another angle. FYI, Shum
Shui Po is a district where the people earn the lowest average income in
Hong Kong.

At another stall (Stall B),
there is similar phenomenon. The locals are eagerly looking for their
expected stuffs in mind, before the stuffs are unloaded from the
trolley.

The secondhand stuffs include
pots, electrical appliances, shoes, tennis rackets, light bulbs,
tablewares, kitchenwares and ... .

And clothings, compact discs, toys, books, bags, ... .

At Stall C, all secondhand
stuffs are displayed on the floor and under large sun umbrellas. The
locals look around for a while and may have discussions about the
property of their interested with the lady seller. Apliu Street Flea
Market is a place to tell you more about Hong Kong. Some foreign
visitors said they prefer Apliu Street in Shum Shui Po to Temple Street
in Jordan.

Temporary promotion counter

Phone numbers

Phone cards

Rental of a bed (berth) for male per month is HK$900 (US$115.38), including air-con and hot water. No commission is needed.

Lowest
price for a room is HK$800 (US$102.56) per month. I guess this room has
just 'let out'. This should only be a bait to allure enquiry.
