Po Lam Monastery (寶林禪寺) is a temple located at the half foot of Lantau Peak (Fung Wong Shan 鳳凰山) of Lantau Island (
大嶼山), facing Tung Chung and Hong Kong International Airport. It was built in 1980, occupying an area of 40,000 square feet. It takes about one hour to walk to Ngong Ping (昂坪), or half an hour to walk to Tung Chung (東涌). No public transport is accessible to the temple directly, all visitors have to visit on foot.

Po Lam Monastery does not like some temples, it does not have very splendid main hall. It has four main constructions. Inside the main hall,

"a thousand-arm Guan Yin (千手觀音)" and the precious relic of the Gautama Buddha (釋迦牟尼) are worshiped (where precious relics is an ash of cremated Buddha, delivered from Sri Lanka in 1997). Though Po Lam Monastery is not very large, there are about 60 monks and nuns in the temple. It may have a maximum of ~90 persons sometimes.

Vegetarian lunch meal is served daily. Visitors have to arrive at the temple and report to the kitchen before 11:15 in the morning.

Po Lam Monastery was built in 1980. The origin can be dated back to 1955.
