Kun Yam Temple (Guan Yin Temple 觀音廟) in Hung Hom (紅磡) is different from other Ku Yam Temples in other districts, because there is a street called Kun Yam Street (觀音街) in front of the temple. I do not think there is another Kun Yam Street in Hong Kong. But the address of this Kum Yam Temple is "18-20 Station Lane, Hung Hom, Kowloon 九龍紅磡差館里18-20號".

Hung Hom Kun Yam Temple was established in 1873. This means it has 140 years history. It is said that when Hung Hom was bombed in the war, most constructions / houses nearby were burnt but the Kun Yam Temple was still in good condition and had not been damaged.

The temple is facing Kun Yam Street. This photo is taken from Kun Yam Street. The temple has a symmetrical design.

An important festival to Hung Hom Kun Yam Temple is the 26th day of the first lunar month, on that day there are too many followers and policemen have to control the order.

There is a clinic serving the general public.

In my experience, this Kun Yam Temple is one of the most crowded temples (the others are Wong Tai Sin Temple

) and the most crowded Kun Yam Temple in Hong Kong. There are a lot of followers inside the temple, this cannot be noticed from outside.

Some souvenirs are on sale inside the temple.

There are several shops selling joss stick and candles, and one vegetarian restaurant on the right of the above photo.

It is not expected that there are so many followers to Hung Hom Kun Yam Temple. It is very crowded inside the temple on a normal weekday, without any special festival. If you want to experience the same and the admire the construction of an old temple, you should remember to visit Hung Hom Kun Yam Temple when you pass by Hung Hom next time.
